The sheer visual elegance and romantic splendour of Varda's film aroused the kind of critical suspicions that quite rightly surround Un Homme et une Femme. Le 3e long métrage de la réalisatrice a reçu le prix Louis-Delluc.

In an interview she said that if the film were made in an era when she were more 'educated on such matters', Le Le Bonheur is very highly rated by IMDb reviewers which is one of the reasons, I wanted to watch it. Many of these reviews touch on the historical, technical and artistic aspects of the film. But as solely a film fan not a film critic, I tend to judge movies based on how I feel about them. Le Bonheur dates from an earlier stage in Varda’s development and her interests and motivations are different. Of course, the maker of Cléo From 5 To 7, that pre-eminent rejoinder to the misogyny-tinged Nouvelle Vague, is going to be sensitive to the perspective of her female characters. Le Bonheur. Film. Time Out says. The sheer visual elegance and romantic splendour of Varda's film aroused the kind of critical suspicions that quite rightly surround Un Homme et une Femme. But Le Bonheur (Happiness) (1965): Agnes Varda’s Tale of Unusually “Happy” Romantic Triangle and its Consequences October 14, 2020 by EmanuelLevy French Wave director Agnès Varda’s Le Bonheur (Happiness) is considered to be one of her most personal and most impressive films. Le Bonheur is actually a far more subtle film than this, and indeed it is one of the most ironic and truthful portrayals of romantic love in French cinema.
